Climate Regions

This picture shows that the United States has more climate regions than Canada.  This shows that the U.S. has alot of temperature change. One of the more common climates is the Humid Continental which is the brighter yellow and purplish brown region.  Another climate region that is common is Humid Subtropical which is the grayish color and is under the Humid Continental. The last common region is Steppe and is the brown speckled color. The other climate regions on the West side of the U.S. are: Highland, Desert, Mediterranean, and Marine West Coast.

Mississippi River

The Mississippi River goes from Minnesota down South to Louisiana and flows out to the Gulf of Mexico. This is the second largest river in the U.S. This long waterway helps the United States with tranportation of production and travel. And let's not forget the dams that help with our energy here in Minnesota and all the other states too.

Coastal Plains

The Coastal Plains are located on the Eastern side of the United States. In the Coastal Plains there are two parts: the Atlantic and the Gulf. Deep water ports are also found here. The Southern part of the Coastal Plains is more rural areas, and the Northern part is urban. Another characteristic you can find here is marshes and swamps.

Gulf of Mexico

The Gulf of Mexico is a large body of water in the Southeastern United States. Here is where the Mississippi River empties out and other rivers too. The Gulf is used alot for tranportationing goods and fishing for alot of seafood. Here there is a good resource of petroleum.
